In addition to drug therapy, a diet for gastritis is of great importance - the “right” foods do not irritate the walls, promote epithelial regeneration and maintain remission of the disease.

What to eat for gastritis

There are many reasons why gastritis develops:

  • Poor diet, with a predominance of dry, spicy and hot foods;
  • Unbalanced diets;
  • Abuse of alcoholic beverages, sodas;
  • Taking certain medicines that irritate the lining of the stomach

Before we talk about what you can eat with gastritis and what you should refuse, you need to learn some basic diet assumptions:

  1. Meals should be regular. You should not take long breaks between meals, miss lunch or afternoon tea for any reason should not be replaced by a "double" dinner;
  2. For gastritis, fractional meals are indicated - in small portions at short intervals;
  3. If possible, do not mix solid and liquid foods; the first courses must be separated from the second courses. Dishes with a liquid or mash consistency are the easiest to digest;
  4. The temperature of the food should not be too high or too low, hot food is absorbed optimally and does not irritate the stomach;
  5. The use of table salt should be kept to a minimum, and seasonings and spices should be completely abandoned;
  6. The diet should be rich in vitamins, but fiber for patients with gastritis is too heavy a food;
  7. Dishes are cooked boiled (steamed) or stewed;

What can you eat with stomach gastritis

With high acidity

The diet for gastritis with increased secretion of hydrochloric acid is aimed at reducing acidity, neutralizing it with the help of the contents of the stomach.

  • Vegetable soups with pasta, rice. The vegetables are well boiled and passed in a blender;
  • Milk soups with noodles or strongly boiled cereals;
  • White bread (dried) yesterday made from wheat flour;
  • Meat - beef, lamb and lean pork, chicken, turkey, skinless rabbit, tendons. The meat is baked or steamed, chopped cutlets, soufflés, meatballs, beef stroganoff (boiled meat) are allowed;
  • Milk and non-acidic products - kefir, yogurt, cream, sour cream, cottage cheese (cheesecakes, casseroles), mild cheese varieties;
  • Chicken, duck, quail eggs - boiled in the shell or in the form of an omelet;
  • Porridge: semolina, buckwheat, rice, oatmeal, in water or milk, viscous, enveloping, cereals should be boiled and rubbed through a sieve;
  • Vegetables - boiled or cooked, mashed. Pumpkin, squash, potatoes, beets, carrots, cauliflower, rarely tomatoes and green peas are allowed;
  • Fruits - neutral or sweet, bananas, peeled sweet apples (baked), pears, ripe persimmons. Berries - only sweet, in the form of jelly, compotes, fruit drinks, marshmallows, marmalade, jam;
  • As cold appetizers, boiled tongue, liver pâté, fish aspic, red caviar, milk sausage and doctor's sausage, forshmak, unsalted ham are allowed (in moderation! )
  • We recommend drinking sweet compotes, lightly brewed tea (with milk, cream), weak coffee with milk, cocoa, jelly;
  • Unsalted butter, ghee and refined vegetable oil are allowed.

Low acidity

In diagnosis, the objective is to stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid. Unlike the previous scheme, in this case you can:

  • Cook soups in stiff fish and meat broths;
  • Eat sour vegetables and fruits;
  • Include salted canned foods in the diet;
  • Give preference to fermented dairy products;
  • Drink acidic juices - orange, grapefruit, tomato, grape;
  • Drink still mineral water

  • Sour fruits - melon, pomegranate, grapes, peaches, citrus, kiwi. Small berry seeds irritate the intestinal walls, so they are eaten only in processed form. Dried fruits are not recommended;
  • Chocolate, ice cream;
  • Sauces, mustard, pepper, horseradish. Limited to vanillin, cinnamon, dill, parsley, garlic;
  • Nuts - peanuts, hazelnuts;
  • Drink soft drinks, strong coffee, kvass bread.

Low acidity

Foods that cause fermentation in the stomach are prohibited:

  • milk, cream, sour cream;
  • confectionery, bakery products;
  • chocolate;
  • radish, garlic.

The opinion on the use of watermelon is controversial: a ripe sweet watermelon will not do any harm, but you should not overdo it, because the kidneys are additionally overloaded, the risk of exacerbation of urolithiasisincreases.

Menu of the day for gastritis

Despite strict prohibitions, it is possible (and necessary! ) to eat healthy and tasty even during an exacerbation of gastritis. The recipes are varied, the main thing is to show your imagination.

Sample menu for the day:

  • Breakfast. Buckwheat milk porridge (crushed), scrambled eggs, tea with milk;
  • Second breakfast. Kissel, unleavened cookies;

In case of gastritis with low acidity, the menu should be diversified with fruit, fermented dairy products.

Strict adherence to the diet (table number 1) is necessary during the period of exacerbation and the first two weeks after the attack has stopped.

Then you can gradually introduce additional foods into the diet, carefully monitoring your well-being.
